Collect a first void urine sample and lesion swabs (if lesions are present) using our easy-to-use at-home collection kit, and mail it back to us.  A swab test kit is included for HSV-1 and HSV-2 if lesions are present.  Both are optimal for the most accurate possible HSV detection, as FVU can detect HSV when it presents as urethritis, and swabs provide a more precise diagnosis for lesions, allowing the test kit to be used to determine infection anywhere lesions exist externally on the body or in the mouth.  In just a few days, you'll receive confidential results for Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Mycoplasma genitalium, Trichomoniasis, herpes simplex virus 1, or herpes simplex virus 2 by email or logging into your online account. Herpes simplex virus 2 is much more highly recurring and is generally associated with genital herpes.

False negatives are possible with all methods of detecting HSV-1 and HSV-2. As this is an NAAT, your specimen must contain HSV-1 or HSV-2 DNA to produce a positive result.
