The tests from urine used to identify HPV strains included in this kit has only been shown to be effective in women.  Women have 200x the cells which can be infected with HPV in their urine, making HPV much easier to detect.  As a result, we are not yet willing, nor able to legally run HPV testing in men using this kit.

• ACCURATE RESULTS: NAAT testing is the gold standard for detecting Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Mycoplasma genitalium, Trichomoniasis, human papillomavirus (HPV) 16, 18, 31, 33, 45, 52, 58, 67, herpes simplex virus 1, and herpes simplex virus 2. These tests are the most accurate currently available anywhere for urine and swabs (for HSV lesions only if necessary). If you have just gotten over an outbreak (crusted or scabbed-over sores), false negatives are much more likely with this and any other NAAT testing method. Only open (wet) lesions, ideally taken within the first few days of an outbreak are likely to produce ideal results.  This test kit is best ordered when the initial symptoms of an HSV outbreak or urethritis are present.  False negatives are possible with all methods of detecting HSV-1 and HSV-2.
